You've been working for 10+ years, and something's off. I help you figure out what's actually wrong—your job, your boss, or something deeper—then we fix it without blowing up your financial security.

What Your Monday Really Feels Like
You know the feeling. That sinking dread as the alarm goes off. The mental countdown of hours until you end your day. The thought you try to push away: "How do I get out of here?"Maybe you're not even sure what you want instead. You just know you don't want to be here again next Monday. Perhaps you’ve been impacted by an unexpected layoff and you’re scrambling to figure out what’s next. You're a mid-career professional. You've put in 10-15 years. You've proven yourself. And yet...You're stuck. Not because you lack ambition or you're not trying hard enough.

The job market is completely different than it was even last year
AI has changed how jobs are found and filled (and nobody taught you how to navigate it)
You have a mortgage, kids, aging parents, a 401k you're worried about
Job searching while employed feels impossible—it's literally a full-time job
Everyone's advice conflicts: "Just wait it out!" vs "Be grateful you have a job!"
Your network is job hugging (or they're all unemployed too)
When's the last time someone asked you what YOU want? Not what you should want. Not what's realistic. Not what keeps everyone else comfortable. You. In your role, you're always being asked: "Can you take on more? Can you do more?" When's the last time someone asked:
You know you need to make a move. Maybe you've even tried?
Updated your resume (but never sent it)
Scrolled LinkedIn at midnight (feeling worse about the market)
Hit “Easy Apply” for a quick win
Told yourself you'll network (but the thought makes you want to hide)
But while you're waiting for the "right time," here's what's happening:
The Market Is Leaving You Behind
Job searching last year is completely different than job searching this year. Experts say apply within 24 hours of a posting—if you have a job, kids, aging parents, how can you possibly keep up?
AI has changed everything. Job seekers and employers are using it. If you're not learning to navigate this, you're falling behind the learning curve. And if you're not networking—if people don't know what you're looking for—you're invisible.
Your sense of control right now is an illusion
Here's the truth: you might hate your job, but at least you have one. Except... you could get laid off tomorrow. Nestle is cutting 16,000 people. Google has continuous "quiet layoffs". Federal jobs—once the gold standard for security—are being gutted. Or worse: your company lays off colleagues, and suddenly you're doing three people's jobs for the same paycheck. The security you're job-hugging for? It's not real. Somewhere inside, you know this.
The Advice You're Getting Isn't Helping
You've asked friends and family what to do. Some say: "You'll land something." Others say: "Be grateful. The market is terrible." **There's no consistent advice. Nothing is tailored to YOUR situation--industry, bills, or reality. So you stay stuck. Monday morning comes again.
What This Costs You
Every day you stay stuck:
Your confidence erodes--every Monday, you wake up with dread
You're losing time--how long have you felt this way? Months? Years?
Your nervous system is shot--constant anxiety about staying and leaving
You're missing opportunities--others are making moves while you're frozen
The longer you wait, the harder it gets—not because you're doing something wrong, but because you're trying to figure it out alone.

Imagine waking up Monday morning without that dread. Not because you have your "dream job"—but because you have a solid plan that fits your life. What if you could:
See multiple pathways forward instead of "stay miserable OR risk everything"
Move from being reactive to taking action based on a solid plan so you're making real choices instead of just surviving
Understand what this market requires and how to position yourself to stand out
Have someone in your corner who sees possibilities when you're stuck in mental loops
Build options—whether that's the right full-time role, positioning for when the market improves, or exploring income diversification
Stop job-hugging out of fear and start making moves from strategy
In coaching, you get space—maybe for the first time in years. Then we build a roadmap to make it real.
I'm a career coach, but I won't help you find just another job.
I'm Meris Stone. Here's what I will help you do:✓ Get clear on what you want (versus what you should want)
✓ Generate possibilities you haven't considered
✓ Make decisions grounded in something real by identifying your Power Position,
the intersection of:
what you care about,
what you're skilled at, and
where the market is paying
✓ Build a solid plan that works with your life—not against it
✓ Navigate today's job market if that's the path you choose
✓Create real options so you're never trapped againWhat I won't do:✗ Tell you to "take the leap"
✗ Gaslight you about why you haven't "made it happen yet"
✗ Pretend the job market isn't a mess right now
✗ Give you a cookie-cutter program
My Philosophy
You're not stuck because you lack skills or ambition. You're stuck because:
The system is broken (traditional job security doesn't exist anymore)
The rules have changed (AI, networking requirements, market speed)
You're trying to figure this out alone
Nobody's asking what YOU want
You need a thought partner, not a cheerleader.Someone who:
Understands that "job security" now means multiple income streams and strategic positioning
Sees the backdoor when everyone's fighting at the front entrance
Walks alongside you instead of pushing you off a cliff
Brings strategic thinking AND emotional support
Uses diagnostic tools, including the Power Position Exercise, to map where your skills, interests, and what the market pays for all converge, so we're building toward something real, not just something possible
Most career transitions stall for the same reason: people make decisions based on one or two of the things that matter, and ignore the third. They follow what they're good at and forget to ask whether the market actually pays for it. Or they chase what's in demand and end up in work that drains them. Or they do what they love and discover there's no real opening for them to step into. I work differently. Before we talk about what's next, we establish where you have ground to stand on.Job searching is lonely. You deserve support. There's always a backdoor—let me help you find it.
Right now, you're stuck. Spinning in mental loops. Putting out fires. Dreading Monday mornings. Here's where you'll be after we work together.
Picture Monday Morning Three Months From Now
You wake up without that pit in your stomach. Not because you've magically landed your "dream job"—but because you have a plan. A real one. You have multiple options, not just one "right" answer you're desperately trying to find. You can evaluate opportunities against what you want your life to look like. You advocate for yourself instead of accepting whatever you're offered out of fear. And here's the thing—you have energy again. You're present in your life, not mentally spinning about work all the time.
What This Looks Like
First, you get clarity on what you want—not what you should want. That "I'm in trouble" feeling becomes "I have a plan." You stop spinning because you finally have someone to think with. If job searching is your path, you understand how to navigate today's market: the AI, networking, and positioning pieces. You're building multiple options for financial security instead of depending on one employer.Something profound shifts: your nervous system regulates. You're not in fight-or-flight anymore. You can negotiate. You can advocate for yourself. Six months from now, you're living the shift. You have real options—maybe a role that fits your life, maybe strategic positioning for when the market improves, maybe income diversification you're building. What matters most is that you know how to navigate future transitions. The skills aren't just for this moment. You're the star of your own show—not your job.
How We Get You There
We meet weekly or bi-weekly for 60-minute calls—you choose based on your pace and budget. Every session is recorded. This is "Choose Your Own Adventure" coaching, fully customized to your situation. I become your thought partner. I see your blind spots, hold you accountable to keep moving, and create space to process the emotional weight—because this is your life. You're not alone in this. The Power Position Exercise is one of the tools that I use with my clients. It's built around three overlapping areas:
Circle 1 — Passion & Interests: What work do you want to do? Not what sounds good. Not what you're supposed to want. What you'd do unprompted, what holds your attention, and what you've been avoiding calling a real interest because it didn't seem practical.
Circle 2 — Market Demand: Is there evidence that people are paying for this? Not a feeling, not a LinkedIn post you saw once. Job titles, salary floors, demand trends, and people currently doing this work who are getting compensated for it.
Circle 3 — Skills & Experience: What do you offer that's hard to find elsewhere? And just as important: Which of your skills do you actively want to keep using, versus ones you're good at, but don't enjoy?

My favorite part: everyone's fighting at the front entrance. I help you find the backdoor.
Here's What I Know
You deserve support. You shouldn't have to figure this out alone. I'm not here to cheerlead without a strategy or hand you a generic to-do list. What I am going to do is walk alongside you, bring strategic thinking that creates real options, and help you shift from survival mode to clarity. So you can build a career that supports the life you want—not just one where you're surviving your inbox.Together, we leave no stone unturned.

I’m not afraid to take chances, and I believe it’s all about calculated planning. In 2019, I was overworked, stretched, and underrecognized. I ran for my life to get yoga classes that offered me a sense of relief. I worked a full-time and part-time job and forced myself to carve out time for life-saving yoga teacher training. I knew I was juggling too much, but what could I do?My breaking point was one day when my internet connection was so bad that I had to take calls while sitting on my toilet. I ended the day at 11pm and started the next day with a 7am call with the same coworker who lived overseas. I thought, “This man is not my husband. He should not be the last person I talk to at night and the first one I start my day with.”This is when I began exploring coaching. I needed a guide, a partner, someone who could provide me with perspective and help me find another way to live. My ideal scenario was to find another role rather than quit without a safety net. It didn’t work out that way, but I was able to save money and move in with my family. The day I gave notice, my boss asked me if I’d checked my annual performance review. I hadn’t. I was finally recognized for my work with an 8% raise, which was huge at this company. But it came too late. I was done. I knew the work situation wouldn’t improve, and more money wasn’t enough.

Fast forward to 2022, I was impacted by a layoff. I worked through the feelings of “why me?,” “life is unfair,” and “ah, what do I do?” I thought about what was within my control. I sublet my NYC apartment, focused on my life goal to become fluent in Spanish, and started looking for language schools in Central America. Once I chose Mexico City, I researched how to import my dog. The plan was to study Spanish and job search. I figured that I’d find a job in a couple of months and return to the U.S. Life had another plan. I met my now husband, and I adapted.I share these stories as examples of how I find ways out. I explore, research, and plan. That’s what I do for my clients. I'm ICF certified, and I coach through Exec Online and The Humanitarian Coaching Network.
I'm a certified yoga teacher and a PMP-certified project manager. I have 15+ years of experience managing projects across 10 countries. I've lived in South Africa, Zambia, and Mexico. I've traveled to over 40 countries, which taught me there's no one way to do things.I've been where you are. Overworked. Underrecognized. Convinced I had to choose between my sanity and financial security. So I changed. Not perfectly, not without fear. But strategically. Now I help people do the same—not with platitudes, but with planning. My background informed the tools I created and use with my clients. The Power Position Exercise is a diagnostic tool that I built because I needed it myself and couldn't find it anywhere else. It maps the overlap between what you care about, what you're skilled at, and where the market is paying. That overlap informs my career decisions, and I want to share that with my clients.

I look forward to connecting with you.
Your network wants to help you. They just don't know how.
This free one-page template tells them exactly what you're looking for — and makes it easy for them to do something about it.
You've told people you're looking.
You've said "I'm open to opportunities" on LinkedIn.
You've mentioned it at dinner.
You've sent the occasional message to a former colleague.
And yet — nothing is moving. It's not because people don't want to help. It's because "let me know if you hear anything" is not a strategy. It puts the entire burden on them to connect dots they don't have the context to connect.Your network can't refer you to the right people, introduce you to the right rooms, or recommend you for your dream roles if they don't know specifically what you're looking for. A resume doesn't solve this. It tells people what you've done. It doesn't tell them what you want next, why you're the right person for it, or what they can do to help. That gap is costing you momentum, time, and opportunities you'll never know you missed.
The Job Search Summary Template closes that gap.
It's a simple document you fill out and share strategically with the people in your network who are most likely to open doors for you. It answers three questions your network needs answered before they can help:
What do you want? Your target roles, industries, and the type of work environment where you do your best work. Clear, specific, no room for misinterpretation.
Why are you the right person? A concise picture of your experience, accomplishments, and what you bring that's hard to find elsewhere.
How can they help you? Specific asks — referrals to hiring managers, introductions to people in your target companies, recommendations for professional groups or communities worth joining, leads on opportunities that haven't been posted yet.
When your network has this document, they don't have to guess. They'll know who you are, what you want, and how to help. That's how referrals happen. One template. Multiple versions. What makes this tool different from anything else in your job search toolkit? You can create a version for each direction you're exploring. A project management (PM) version to share with your PM contacts. A facilitation or training version to pick up side work. A nonprofit version for your mission-driven network. A corporate strategy version for former colleagues. Each version speaks directly to a specific audience — which means each person who receives it knows immediately whether they can help and how. You stop overwhelming people with the full picture of everything you're open to, and start giving each contact the one thing they can act on.You already know this from experience: most people can only hold one clear idea for you in their heads at a time. This template makes sure it's the right one.
What changes when your network knows what you need
Conversations move faster because there's no back-and-forth to establish context
Referrals get more specific because people know exactly who to connect you with
You stop repeating yourself at every coffee chat and catch-up call
Your search gets traction from multiple directions at once instead of depending on job boards
The people in your corner feel useful — which means they stay engaged in your search
Not sure if coaching is your next step? That's fine. Start here. If you want to go deeper — book a free 30-minute discovery call and we'll figure out together what kind of support makes sense for where you are.

No Stone Unturned Consulting is a career coaching practice for mid-career professional women navigating identity-level transitions. Meris E. Stone, MA, PMP, ACC, helps clients move from stuck and underrecognized to building careers that fit their actual lives — not just their resumes.
What does a career coach do?A career coach helps you figure out what you want, build a strategy to get there, and holds you accountable while you do it. That's different from a recruiter, who finds you jobs, or a therapist, who processes the past. Coaching is forward-facing, action-oriented, and grounded in your specific situation. At No Stone Unturned Consulting, coaching goes one step further. Before we talk about what's next, we use a tool called the Power Position Exercise that maps where your skills, interests, and market demand overlap. That intersection is where your next move has the most traction.
What is the difference between a career coach and a therapist?A career coach focuses on what comes next — clarity, strategy, decisions, and action. A therapist focuses on processing past experiences and addressing deeper mental health needs. Both are valuable, but they are not the same thing. If you need support working through trauma, anxiety disorders, or deep psychological patterns, therapy is the right resource. If you need a strategic thought partner to help you figure out what you want and build a plan to get there, that's coaching.I am an ICF-certified coach, not a therapist. I bring frameworks, accountability, and an outside perspective. I do not provide therapeutic services.
Is career coaching worth the investment for mid-career professionals?Career coaching is worth the investment when you are stuck, the cost of staying stuck is real, and you are ready to do the work. The question to ask yourself isn't 'Can I afford this?' — it's 'What has staying stuck already cost me?'I offer different price points and payment plans to make this accessible. What's your plan to solve your career problem if not coaching? Hoping it resolves itself usually doesn't work. Critical questions:How long have you been stuck? What has that cost you in terms of opportunities, energy, and peace of mind? Here is what is available:
| Package | Sessions | Timeline | Investment |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Sandbox Session | 1 session | 1 hour | $250 |
| The Momentum Package | 10 sessions | 3-5 months | $2,150 |
| Clarity & Integration Package | 20 sessions | 5-6 months | $4,300 |
| The Transition Lab | Group program | 6-weeks | $1,200; early bird $995 |
If cost is a barrier, payment plans are available. Bring it up on the discovery call — we will figure out what is realistic.
What is a career identity transition?
It's an internal shift. You're ready to think beyond your next job title and explore your career themes.
What drives you?
How does your career complement your life?
What are your relationships to success, ambition, achievement, authority, effort and external validation?
How do I make time for coaching?
Find one hour per week. That's the minimum commitment. How much time are you spending:
Scrolling job postings at night?
Mentally spinning about your situation?
Venting to friends who give conflicting advice?
We redirect that time into strategic action. You can move as fast or slow as you want outside our sessions—that determines your pace.
How do I know if I am ready for career coaching? You don't need to have it figured out to start. Curiosity is enough. If something isn't working and you're willing to examine it honestly, that's readiness. You don't need certainty about what you want, a clear direction, or the 'right' moment. There isn't one. What will waiting cost you?
I don't know if it's the right time. How much time does career coaching actually require? There's no perfect time. You're here because something isn't working. Curiosity is enough to start, you only need the willingness to explore. Career coaching requires a minimum of one hour weekly or bi-weekly. Your results depend on your pace and investment.Where is that hour coming from? Most clients are already spending significant time scrolling job postings, mentally spinning about their situation, or venting to people who give conflicting advice. We redirect that time into focused, strategic action.
What's the guarantee? What results can I expect from career coaching? No ethical coach can guarantee a specific job title, salary, or timeline. Clients consistently report: more clarity, a real plan, and the ability to advocate for themselves — often for the first time in years. You'll see progress when you show up and do the work.
To get results, you need to:
Be present in sessions
Follow through on actions
Be honest when something isn't working
I provide accountability, frameworks, and the ability to see blind spots you can't see alone. Here is what that has looked like in practice:
Laura J. took 16 years of legal experience and pivoted into organizational development. She shifted from undervaluing her transferable skills to confidently articulating her value in a new field.
Sheri B. came in burnt out and on medical leave. She built a plan to launch her coaching business while returning to her corporate role for financial stability. She went from overwhelmed to operating with clarity and confidence.
Karah M. shifted from 'I could never be an entrepreneur' to identifying monetizable passions and building a path toward them.
Results depend on one thing: whether you show up and do the work. Coaching is a partnership. Your commitment determines the pace of change.
Do I need a career coach who specializes in my industry? No, in many cases, an outside perspective is more useful. The core challenges that stall mid-career transitions are consistent across industries: demanding jobs, fear of change, financial anxiety, unclear direction, and the inability to see your blind spots. A coach inside your industry can advise you on sector-specific norms. A coach outside of it can ask you questions your industry won't, which is often where clarity comes from.Where I'm not the right fit: if you need deep technical expertise or insider industry knowledge to make your next move.Where I'm the right fit: strategic thinking, frameworks, accountability, and the ability to see options you can't see when inside your situation.
What is the difference between job searching and career transitioning?
Job searching is:
short-term,
focuses on identifying your next role, and
is a tactical process (e.g. increasing your visibility, refining your application materials)
Career transitioning is:
longer-term and strategic,
positioning yourself to achieve your next goal (e.g., leadership, entrepreneurship)
a realignment of your passions, skills, and experience,
introspective,
rethinking how you approach your career
What does working with Meris look like?
I am your partner. I am direct, highly accountable, and committed to your success. I believe each client is the expert in their own life. I help guide you by bringing an outside perspective and asking challenging questions. I uniquely pair my coaching with a strategic and pragmatic approach from my project management background.Picture a funnel--we start at the top by setting your vision and goals and assessing where you are in your career versus where you want to be. We may delve deeper into themes such as imposter syndrome and limiting beliefs that could be hindering your progress. Then we assess what is and isn't working, test and explore opportunities, and identify manageable actions to help you gain traction.
What if we're not the right fit?Schedule a free 30-minute discovery call with me. That conversation exists specifically to answer this question. I don't take every client. I work with people I can help and who are ready to do the work. If we aren't the right match, I will tell you and point you toward a better fit.The Discovery Call focuses on:
understanding what you're seeking,
ensuring you can make the commitment,
alignment on our approach, and
the opportunity for you to ask questions.
What's the Power Position Exercise?
The Power Position Exercise is a diagnostic tool developed by No Stone Unturned Consulting to map where your skills, interests, and market demand overlap. Once you've mapped that out, you can:
identify your gaps,
see where you shine,
make trade-offs,
pivot, and
decide where to invest your time, energy, and money.
It's built on three circles:
| Circle | The Question it Answers |
|---|---|
| Passion & Interests | What work do you want to do? This is different from what's trending or what you should do. |
| Market Demand | Is there evidence that companies are hiring and paying for what you want to do? |
| Skills & Experience | Where is your background competitive versus needing to invest in yourself? |
Most career transitions stall because people optimize for one or two of these and ignore the third. The Power Position Exercise addresses all three before we talk about the tactics to employ (e.g., resume review, expanding your network, market research).
